Gentle Slow Flow: This is a gently slow-flow yoga class that is open to all levels of practice but does require some physical ability. This class is especially appropriate for beginner yoga students, individuals who are recovering from injury or have limitations in their movements, or those who want to work on their breathing and enjoy a slower pace. Accommodations are always made for any student in any class, but if you require specific special accommodations, please contact the studio at 218-556-9089.
Yin Yoga: is a slow-paced mindful yoga practice that grew out of traditional Chinese medicine principles. It works deep into the fascia surrounding our bones, tendons, and ligaments. The emphasis of Yin Yoga is on lubricating the joints and getting deeper into the muscles by holding poses for 3-5 mintues. Longer hold times allows the muscles to soften and for the body to fall deeper into the pose. Once in a pose, you try to remain still. It is this stillness that can be difficult, but in this stillness there is time for comtemplation and self-inquiry. Between each of the main poses, there are counterposes and neutral poses that are held for shorter timeframes. These poses help our energy rebalance.
Yoga Sculpt is a unique combination of power yoga and strength training designed to create a full-body workout. Combining traditional yoga poses and principles with strength training and hand weights, this high-intensity workout will leave you feeling stronger, refreshed and uplifted. Please contact Jessica for more details
Restorative Yoga is a mindful gentle yoga practice that holds poses for 5-10 minutes, allowing the body to relax completely. During restorative yoga, you are meant to be completely supported in each pose. You shouldn't have to hold body parts to keep them in place. Instead, props are used to support the body in each position. There should no tension and very little sensation in the muscles while in a pose. Restorative Yoga triggers the body's relaxation response and activates the parasympathetic nervous system that is responsible for regeneration. It improves sleep, digestion, and immunity; relieves stress;
and releases tension in the joints and muscles. Always be gentle with your body and take your time getting into and out of the poses. Use your breath to settle into the poses and as you come out of each pose to help stay relaxed throughout the class.

If you choose to do a private yoga package, which is a great idea for beginners, Jessica or Heather would work with you one-on-one to help you learn what would work best for your body. This is a great way to really learn the poses and have the time to connect the breath, ask questions and build a solid foundation to start a consistent ongoing yoga practice.
Yoga is for every body and for every BODY.
