Jessica's 200 hour training was in a vinyasa style of yoga with a focus on the ashtanga school of practice. In addition to this foundational training she has also recently received a certificate of completion for Mind Body Solutions Opening Yoga/ Adapted Yoga training. Jessica is currently working towards her 500 hour certification. Jessica teaches a variety of classes. In her vinyasa class you can expect the trifecta: strength, balance and flexibility. There is an emphasis on breath work to not only build heat but to also balance the autonomic nervous system. In her other classes you will expect less flow (sometimes no flow at all) and more emphasis will be placed on working with the subtle body, energy movement, and general relaxation. Jessica encourages open dialogue in all her classes. She invites you to listen to your body and support it in whatever way it needs. She believes that yoga is for every body and for EVERY body. She teaches to the midline unless indicated in the class description. Jessica has a passion to adapt yoga to all levels of ability and enjoys teaching both group and private lessons. The practice of yoga is far more than just the application of the physical practice and she strives to bring the mind-body connection into not only her classes but all areas of her life. Gwenia Fiskevold Gould is an engaged community member and recovering workaholic. She found her way to yoga in 2015 through an invitation from a work acquaintance at the height of her work addiction. Through yoga, she learned how to slow down and be more present while building a better relationship to her body and mind.
She trained and taught at CorePower Yoga in Roseville, MN from 2018-2019. Shortly after moving to Bemidji in January 2020, the pandemic started and put her plans to continue teaching yoga to others on hold. In that time, she focused on truly integrating the lessons she had learned on her mat into her life off the mat and has now been teaching Yoga Sculpt in Bemidji since 2022. Gwenia’s approach to yoga is focused on the balance between strength and flexibility, exertion and release, having fun and finding challenge, and curiosity and knowing yourself. You can expect an accessible strength-building vinyasa flow for folks at all levels over the soundtrack of some decent bops. |
