The following Policy is in place for the studio.
COVID-19/ Infection Control Policy for Studio Space
Infection control in the studio space aims to prevent pathogens from being transmitted from one individual to another. The foundation of good infection control is to assume that everyone is potentially infectious. Basic infectious control measures include handwashing, the use of hand sanitizer and frequent cleaning of the studio space. In times of epidemics and pandemics additional measures need to be taken.

Teachers
- Teachers will be responsible for checking themselves for illness before arrival to the studio each day.
- Teachers must not teach class if they have a fever, >99 degrees F.
- Teachers must not teach class if they are sick or exhibit signs of illness.
- If a teacher suspects exposure to COVID 19 they must get tested and self-quarantine as needed. Teachers must communicate exposure concerns/results to other teachers to help identify potential exposures.
- Proactively communicate with your students
- The use of face masks is required for yourself and for students when entering the studio and in communal space. Face masks can be removed once class begins unless students prefer to keep them on.
- The use of studio mats, props, blankets and bolsters is highly discouraged. In the event that something is needed from the studio such as in private sessions or per other circumstances, said items will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected by the teacher before and after each use.
- Let students know what you and the other teachers are doing to increase studio cleaning and other precautions. Discuss this in class, through emails, social media posts, and in-studio flyers
- Encourage students to remain at home if they are sick
- Encourage students to do a home practice if they feel up to it
- Feel comfortable asking students to leave if they cough or sneeze in class
- Students are asked to clean they mat and props before and after class
- Reduce or pause the use of studio-provided props in your in-studio classes
- If still offering studio-provided props, ask students to use a tissue between them and eye pillows, or encourage them to bring a clean pillowcase from home to use over blankets or bolsters
- Encourage students to bring their own props with them, including not just mats but belts, blocks, and bolsters
- Reduce or pause the use of physical assists in your in-studio classes
- Physical assists are HIGHLY discouraged during this time. If they are needed for any particular reason, such as in private lessons, be sure to have both parties masked, use hand sanitizer in session, and be sure to wash hands before and after
- Limit or reduce the number of students per class to allow for more space between mats
- It is recommended that to maintain proper social distancing clients are spaced at least 6 feet apart during practice. There is opportunity for two mats to be side by side for those who live in the same household and come to practice together, these two mats can be together and still maintain 6 feet of social distance from other practitioners.
- Require advanced class sign up. Teachers are allowed to manage this however they see fit, however we must keep documentation of class attendees.
