I get by with a little help from my friends....

Does everyone remember the question I asked last week? In case you don't remember, or gasp didn't read it (shame shame) I will enlighten. I ended my post last week asking for tips and suggestions for running clothes and/or shoes etc that I would need for colder weather running in the upcoming weeks. I got a little bit of feedback and all of it was good. But I was especially fond of one friends email response and found it incredibly helpful. I decided that instead of reiterating what she said I am just going to copy her email into this post. I am leaving her anonymous because well honestly I think she would enjoy being the mysterious contributor, but also because I may use her in the future and I think if she finds a way into more postings it would be more interesting to keep you guessing at who she is:)

Why am I really doing this?

Recently I met with a client and in talking with her and listening to some of her struggles with exercise I could really empathize. Exercise is hard to fit into the day. It is hard to make it a part of the day. We exercise for the purpose of fitting into a swimsuit, or to run in a race, to blow off steam, or because our health is so bad that the doctor said we HAD to start doing something. This train of thought got me thinking even deeper....

Running the streets of Carmel

I know that a few of you have been waiting for this post (or at least one person has, you know who you are...). I do apologize for the delay, as many of you may have known, my husband and I recently spent an amazing 6 days on the California coast. To be specific, Carmel, Pebble Beach and San Fransisco. I also know that many people thought my husband and I would flake on our marathon training while on this vacation. In fact we got several interesting looks as we packed our shoes and running clothes. More than one person questioned our sanity with this one. So for those that had faith I thank you :) and for those that did not, well everyone knows I am always happy to prove someone wrong;).

Its official, training has started

Yesterday morning I woke with mixed feelings, Training starts! I will admit that there was a real excitement and elation that I felt, however that was followed by a shadow of fear. Sure the beginning days of training are easy, walking 20 minutes?! SIMPLE, then a walk run, not too hard, its only 20-25 minutes of it. But then things switch to pure hell, I mean pure running:).....What have I gotten myself into??
